Thursday, 4/25 – Have you seen all those old people walking around today!!!  Students Helping students is celebrating growing up this week and we are glad you all decided to join us!!!  Tomorrow is Generations day – pick a period of time (era) and dress up to honor that generation.  Have fun with it!!!

“Be a part of the yearbook staff that will create next year’s book. The yearbook applications due date has been extended to Friday because of the testing schedule. Welcome back Huskies! As we make our final push towards the end of the school year, your class councils have decided to clearance out all class shirts. So, swing by the student store starting today, to pick up a class shirt for only $5.00! That’s right, only $5.00, while supplies last. Summer school applications are available in the counseling office.  Summer School will begin June 4th, with morning classes running from 8:00 am to 11:35 am and afternoon sessions running from 12:10 pm to 3:45 pm.  Summer school applications will be due on May 6th to guarantee placement in a class.  First come first served.  No enrollments will be accepted on the first day of summer school. Glass Slippers are sooooo Back! Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the HILARIOUS New Broadway adaptation of the classic musical. Cinderella features the songs “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” alongside a hilarious and romantic story, as well as some new characters and surprising twists. 


You can buy tickets at the Studio Theatre Box Office window during lunch or after school on Testing days. Tickets are only $12! Performances are in the PERFORMING ARTS CENTER April 25th, 26th, and 27th, at 7:00, with a matinee performance on April 27th at 2:00. "FFA Members:   Our annual FFA Banquet is quickly approaching on Wednesday May 1st. The theme this year is Hawaiian so show up in leis and sunglasses. Awards will be announced to FFA members and students who made it onto the free High Point Trip will be announced. You must be present at the banquet to receive your ticket to the High Point Trip.   If you would like to buy a food ticket to eat while at banquet, please see Mrs. Flaherty or Ms. Schnider for an $8 pre-sale ticket, or buy a food ticket at the door for $10. See you there!" Attention all huskies!  We have some amazing news!  A team of our art students is 1 of 50 finalists in the Vans Custom Culture competition.  This is out of 500 schools throughout the nation. Students created 2 different pairs of shoes.  Vy Nguyen and Justina Ibarra designed the local flavor pair, which highlights downtown Sacramento.  Loussie Deloso and Nicole Peoples designed the “Off The Wall” pair highlighting sports culture with images of board sports and BMX biking.   The winning school will get $75,000 for the Art Department.  The Grand Prize winning schools will also receive a surprise visit from Vans during their lunch hour. Vans will BBQ for the entire school, give away prizes and will host a musical performance just for our school!   We need your help to make this happen.  Please vote for our school and encourage your family and friends to vote for Sheldon High School now through May 3. You can vote every day through the 3rd of May. Vote at Vans Custom Culture 2019 Vote.  (Flohr 5/3)



 Class and College News


The final day to buy a Senior Ball Ticket is THIS Friday.  Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.  Senior Ball is on May 4th from 6pm to 11pm at the Sacramento Convention Center.  Price is $65 with ASB and $70 without.  Get your tickets today!  (Weaver 4/26)


Seniors – Don’t forget to turn in your Adornment Forms if you wish to wear a personal adornment for graduation.  Forms can be picked up in the VP office.  They are due April 26th.  (Siever 4/26)


Seniors: Don’t forget to turn in your Community Service Hours by the Deadline: Friday, April 26th.    Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors have until the last day of school to submit their Community Service hours for this year. 

Remember, you must get the required signatures on your community service record before you turn it in to the Attendance Office.  (McCabe 4/26)


Attention all Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors!  Do you want to be a time keeper or setup-cleanup assistant for senior boards? If so, there will be a table in the quad during both lunches on Wednesday, April 24th, and Friday, April 26th to sign up. You can also come to room 313 and get more information!  (Mazz 4/26)


Class of 2019. Are you interested in speaking at Graduation?   The Speaker at Large is a student in the graduating class who will give a speech at graduation on this year’s graduation theme:  “The Best is Yet to Come”   If you are interested, please sign up in the AO or Room 335, or email Mr. Weaver. Deadline to apply is May 1st.  Auditions will be held after school - Date and Times To be announced. (Weaver 4/26)


Hello All Seniors!  Have you noticed our Graduates Board in the Front Office from last year? Would you like your picture up there this year?   What are your plans after high school? Community College, CSU, UC, Trade School, Military, Out of State School?  Whatever your next step may be, we want to know about it!  If you would like your picture on our board, all you need to do is go see Ms. Fisher in the Counseling Office with your decision.
